Susan Owen Cary, 53, died Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Memorial Health University Medical Center after a brief illness. She was a graduate of St. Vincent’s Academy and served as the Clerk of Court for the city of Tybee. Susan was passionate about family and friends and never met a stranger. Susie was most noted for her quick wit, keen sense of humor and unquenchable zest for life. Loved by all, she added a little bit of sunshine to the life of anyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Owen.
She is survived by her mother, Corrine Brady Owen, three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Tara Cary, of Rincon, Christopher Cary, of Tybee Island, Matthew and Amber Cary, of Guyton, two grandsons, Ryder Cary and Waylon Cary who both brought much happiness to her life. She is also survived by three sisters and brothers-in-law, Cathie and Freddie Anderson and Nancy and Donnie Anderson, and Mary Crowley, two nieces, Beth A. Hurt, Andrea A. Love, four nephews, John Anderson, Dee Anderson, Brian Anderson, and Fred Anderson, and a host of close friends and other relatives.

Visitation will be Monday, September 4, 2006 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary service at 6:00 p.m. in the Islands Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors.

Mass of Christian burial will be 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Tybee Island.

Burial will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
